The vast difference between private sector and public sector digital marketing is so vast that this book has been described by former President Barack Obama’s Chief Digital Officer as “The manual he needed while working in the White House.”
The power brokers at central and local government and in public sector organisations are citizens. Public engagement levels are at an all-time high and they demand a constant flow of communications through multiple channels and devices.
The days of public bodies, public figures and institutions of the state sitting on the story are over. The Digital Age has transformed human interactions and ideologies, and ultimately influences how we behave. It is the age when our curiosity has deepened (search), our voices have grown louder (social media) and our demands have intensified (smartphone).
So how do you navigate a changing communications landscape with confidence and conviction, truly serving the people of your city, state or country?
A crash course in digital public engagement for immediate results, Public Sector Marketing Pro will teach you how to:
– Transform your traditional marketing or PR department into an agile digital war room
– Influence public opinion using social media
– Respond to the public in real time on social media—even if you’re understaffed
– Embrace digital storytelling techniques, including video
– Effectively respond to crises on social media
– Leverage social media to meet your organisation’s larger objectives
Topics covered include:
– Digital transformation
– Social media
– Content marketing
– Social and live video
– Digital Age crisis management
– Emergency response management
– Measuring success for government communications
Whether you work in politics, government, public service, the non-profit sector, education, defence—or any other state-sponsored organisation—Public Sector Marketing Pro is your ultimate training manual to becoming a skilled leader in your field and online.
The book has taken me to Australia (November 2019) where I presented and trained government and public sector officials in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and am engaged in further collaborations there.
I have been shortlisted for an International Business Book Award and my reaction video on LinkedIn received almost 7000 views.
Book Authrity named my book in the top 20 PR Books of 2020 and I am planning book tours in the UK, the US and Europe this year which I will combine with delivering in-person masterclasses.
I am now seen as the global expert in digital marketing and social media for government and public sector.
