Meet The Author: Helen Winter

26th February 2020

Helen Winter helps companies when they can’t see a way through complex programmes of change.  She is the founder and a writer of Businessbullet.co.uk, an online magazine promoting business analysis and providing guidance for professionals.

Helen Winter was compelled to write The Business Analysis handbook because she felt there was a need for a book that could explain the value of business analysis with lots of practical techniques of how to apply it.

Business analysis covers such a wide area and is applicable whenever change is required in an organisation.  It applies at strategic level in order to help c-level executives have the information they need to make decisions.  It applies pre-project to understand the business case in order to make sure the project is worth doing and understand what the real problems are.  It also applies during a project for eliciting and documenting both business requirements and system requirements.  So many people are asked to take on business analysis tasks often without having the role title and may not know the number of techniques available to help them.  This book will help them and others who want a reference book for guidance on whatever part of business analysis they need.  The book starts off each chapter with the most common questions that get asked with lots of practical examples of how to apply them.  It also has a templates chapter containing the standard structure for documenting their findings to ensure valuable information is not missed.

Publishing this book has led me to talking at various international conferences and more opportunities to help others.
