Over the course of my career, I’ve worked as a psychologist with leaders from all walks of life. I love what I do, but I’ve always had a deep-seated desire to share what I’ve learnt with a wider audience, to democratise who I serve. This has become a large part of my life’s mission. My starting point was writing Defining You, a book which shares the insights I’ve gained from my work alongside cutting-edge tools from psychologists around the world.
Defining You provides the reader with the experience of executive profiling and coaching, something typically only available to senior leaders. It walks through how to explore their personal narrative providing a greater understanding of what makes them tick. This forms the basis for them to move forwards positively in work and in life – with insights geared towards improving performance, relationships, happiness and well-being as well as tools to overcome obstacles, understand stress and optimise physiological functioning. The book also gives access to a free, in-depth personality psychometric providing an online individualised report.
The book has enabled me to more publicly raise awareness of the need for psychological literacy – to help people grasp the basic anatomy of behaviour, to highlight the importance of us each understanding our own story and to make sense of what that means in the context of the world around us. This knowledge can have a hugely positive impact on our lives whereas nuanced misunderstandings can take people down the wrong path and cause more harm than good. I’m aiming to help rectify this so that individuals can live happier, healthier lives. My ultimate dream is to enhance our understanding of behaviour at a collective level to mitigate a myriad of global issues. It could literally make the world a better place.
Defining You: How to profile yourself and unlock your full potential is shortlisted for the Self Development category of the Business Book Awards sponsored by Tony J Selimi. To get your copy of the book Click Here.
