Rebecca is a scientist by background having completed a PhD in Immunology at the University of Cambridge, publishing her work in one of the world’s top academic journals . Since leaving academic research, Rebecca’s career has given her the opportunity to build and develop a successful consultancy business, work with and lead colleagues from more than 92 countries, live and work abroad and lead organisations and groups in roles including Company Director of a niche pharmaceutical consultancy, Global Head and Global Director roles in two of the world’s top 10 pharma companies and, more recently, COO roles in early-stage start-ups. Rebecca took the leap in 2020 releasing her own book, ‘The Leadership Vaccine: drive innovation, increase efficiency and build resilience in highly regulated industries’, capturing the approaches and methodologies developed over her varied and successful career, to support individuals and leaders in building cohesive, high performing organisations with a focus on operational excellence. The Leadership Vaccine achieved best seller status in the UK Amazon charts, No.1 new release status in Amazon charts in USA, Canada and Australia and reached top 3 in new release categories in Spain and France. Rebecca currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at the Biotech start-up, ExpressionEdits where she leads the overall operation of the business and its performance as they look to bring forward the full potential of genetic production. Rebecca also serves as a mentor on the UK BioIndustry Association’s Women in Biotech programme and as a start-up mentor on UCL’s Innovation & Enterprise Hatchery programme.
